Dana has practiced yoga on and off for over 20 years. But it wasn't until she reached her fifties and she began to feel the effects of aging and a sedentary lifestyle that she decided to dive in deep to daily practices of yoga, meditation, and holistic nutrition. These practices have helped her build strength, flexibility, balance, agility, and most importantly equanimity. Dana completed her yoga instructor certification and holistic nutritionist certification in 2019 through the American Fitness Professionals & Associates (AFPA) and her meditation teacher certification in 2019 with the Priority Academy. In January 2020, she became a certified Yoga for Healthy Aging teacher. She completed her 200-hour YTT at Castro Valley Yoga and gained a certificate in Yoga Nidra in 2022. She brings her passion for wellness and yoga philosophy to the mat and encourages students in her classes to let go of preconceptions of how yoga "should" be done and to pay attention to what works for them in the moment.

Bridget committed to a dedicated yoga practice in 2009 to support her overall mental, emotional, and physical wellbeing. She found a deep connection to teachers who emphasized  mind-body awareness, structural alignment, and focused attention to the breath. She credits the transformative power of yoga for deepening her spiritual awareness and enriching her pursuit of balance on and off the mat. She is an E-RYT 200 and RYT 500, Yoga Kurunta ropes wall certified (2017), both a Yoga for Healthy Aging (2018) and Accessible Yoga (2021) certified instructor, and completed her 75 hour Skill in Action training in 2022. She brings all of this into her experience as a seeker, student, social change agent, and teacher. She hopes to share the light and joy of this practice in a welcoming and supportive environment always. Bridget is co-owner of Castro Valley Yoga.

Joe began his personal yoga practice at 62 years of age using the method inspired by BKS Iyengar. In 2013, he graduated from the Berkeley Yoga Room's 500-hour Advanced Studies Program. He then started teaching at numerous yoga studios and hospitals in the East Bay, as well as the Hayward Area Recreation Department's Aikens Senior Center and the Castro Valley and San Lorenzo public libraries. He is committed to yoga as community service and believes in the healing and sustaining power of yoga for himself, his family, and his community. He is also a certified Yoga for Healthy Aging instructor and a Yoga 12-Step Recovery Class teacher.
